They had spent a lovely day together. Akari watched as Evelyn and Alkirn bonded. It was only a few hours ago that Alkirn had been hostile towards Eve and now there they were, laughing and joking amongst each other.
.. .......
Things had settled down a bit as they sat and watched the fireworks explode in the black sky above decorating the dark canvas with bright colors.
"Alkirn. . . I . . . have to tell you something." Eve's voice broke the silence that stretched between them.
Alkirn glanced at Akari briefly, bewildered, silently asking her with his gaze if she knew anything about it, Akari shook her head. He then turned his gaze to Eve. "Yes?"
Eve fiddled nervously with a leaf she had somehow found. Then as if mustering up enough courage she took a deep breath. "I am pregnant."
There was a long silence. Alkirn merely looked at Eve, his expression blank.
His hand slowly went up and grasped his head. Akari thought it was a simple gesture.
"Are you... who is... How did this hap-..." Perhaps he was trying to process it all but suddenly a sharp gasp escaped him and he fell unto the floor screaming.
"Alkirn!" Akari fell to her knees beside him.
He tried to push her away, she wouldn't budge.
"Alkirn, baby what's wrong?" She insisted, trying to help but having continuous resistance on his part. His screams ripped at her heart.
"What did I do?!" Eve screamed hysterically. Akari should have told her it was not her fault but she was far too engrossed with her fallen mate.
His pain seemed to go on forever, her uselessly holding his hand which he seemed to accept gladly.
The waves left him weakened, finally he breathed out a soft sigh of relief, though his breathing had become labored. His gaze moved to find hers.
"It's the seal isn't it. . . answer me Alkirn. . . it's the seal isn't it?" She asked worriedly.
He opened his mouth, yet no sound came from him.
She understood now was not the time to argue. She had to get him home, they would discuss it after he rested. She lifted his arm over her shoulder, he made a small gasp and she lifted him effortlessly and let him use her as a crutch.
Eve eyed her wearily.
"Its fine. Hes not that heavy." She answer. Alkirn and Eve quietly looked at her. "What?. . ."She sighed. "I am sorry Eve. It's not your fault. Ok? Al. . . is just a stupid stubborn bastard is all." He grunted at her.
"Its. . . alright. . ." Eve answered.
"I. . . Will see you later ok?" She smiled at Eve. Eve smiled briefly before turning to take her leave.
She turned her gaze to Alkirns, " Alright love, I love you and all. . . but I am not carrying you home as human. I will use the ally ways don't worry, but I an shifting. Its easier for me to carry you that way." And she she moved towards a darkened ally.

She knew not why she had such an attraction to this vampire boy. Clearly, he should little to no interest in her. His demeanor toward her was hostile, filled with anger and hatred. Yet it only drew her in.
His dark eyes hid much in their depths and she watched them intently as his gaze met hers. She could sense the scars hidden beneath his hard exterior. The wolf in her yearned to heal them and bring out the love she sensed was buried deep within. It mattered very little what the others said about him. She ignored the rumor and whispers of her family. She understood his pain. To be born with a label already cast upon you. To be viewed as weak to that power and see the judgment in their eyes as they await for the fated day in which you break.
Chaos. . .  destruction. Did they not go hand in hand?
She stepped forward reaching her hand up to caress his face. His expression turned into that of utter shock. It told her that no other had showed him such affection. Oh, my little Alkirn, I shall fix that soon enough.
She heard his sharp intake of breath as she brought his face closer and placed a careful kiss on his lips. She had expected him to pull away and even perhaps strike her yet he remained completely still. It sent a small shiver down her spine. Oh how she wished the moment would never end, she wished that time would stop and freeze them in that moment forever. . . but Alkirn though otherwise.
He broke their kiss and jumped back with such speed she nearly fell forward. He wiped his mouth as if he were attempting to erase the kiss.
"Don't ever do that again you filthy mutt!"
She only kept her gaze steady on him as he began to pace, screaming at her at the top of his lungs. Insulting her very  existence, calling her names she didn't even know the meaning of.  This tantrum went on and on. She heard his words  but their meaning was lost. All she saw was a lost boy ranting on about which upset him.  Her amusement only grew to the point a small giggle escaped her lips.
He turned to face her, his expression reflecting once again shock.
"Do I amuse you wolf?" He snapped. He had stopped pacing, his deep penetrating gaze upon her once more. So, she responded with a devious smile which seemed to further infuriate him.
"Do you usually go off on tangents my little vampire? Or, is it just with me?" Her question, though innocent enough did not help.
His eyes grew cold and distant again. He had shut down again raising that guard he had placed early. In the next instant, he was gone.
She stood there alone, contemplating her options. Her future seemed bleak alone. She imagined one with Alkirn. . . and it opened something within her very soul that she was not aware existed. She knew this feeling, it was one which wolves talked about only in stories. It was an experience that had to be felt by the person themselves in order ot understand its true meaning. She had found her mate, and she vowed to herself that she would have him. . . and Akuma's always kept their vows.
